Novus designed and manufactured bespoke island display units for the Siemens EQ bean-to-cup coffee machine range, installed at three John Lewis flagship stores: Oxford Street, Cambridge and Kingston. The units provide an interactive barista experience environment — customers can operate the machines and prepare coffee before purchase — without requiring any structural alteration to existing John Lewis floor layouts. All three installations were completed overnight, with stores trading normally the following morning.
BSH Group required a premium display environment for the Siemens EQ bean-to-cup machine range that could be placed as a freestanding island within existing John Lewis floor plans, rather than a wall-fixed installation. The display needed live water supply, mains electrical connections and waste drainage for customer demonstration — all self-contained within the unit — while meeting John Lewis's in-store installation requirements. All three stores required overnight installation to avoid any disruption to trading hours.
Novus designed freestanding island units with water supply, power and waste drainage fully integrated within the cabinet structure, eliminating the need for floor penetrations or permanent store modifications. Units were finished in dark oak veneer with Siemens brand colours, backlit display headers and integrated product staging. All components were manufactured through Novus's Yorkshire-based manufacturing network, QA-checked before despatch, and delivered for overnight assembly by Novus installation teams. The compact island format was specified to allow repositioning between departments without remedial building work.
