TCL QD-Mini LED: Retail Display & Exhibition Stand

Novus designed and produced a modular branded display system for TCL's QD-Mini LED television range, built around a shared platform that could be deployed across both independent retail and exhibition environments. The retail installation at Cleverleys Blackpool uses a full-height backlit fascia panel with TCL's brand graphics, a hero screen presentation plinth and coordinated display plinths sized for the QD-Mini LED range. The same core platform was reconfigured for TCL's stand at CIH 2025 — a national consumer electronics trade show — with the exhibition format using the same modular header system, plinth dimensions and brand vocabulary, keeping visual consistency across both contexts and reducing the cost of producing a separate exhibition build.

Brief

TCL needed a branded retail display capable of showcasing their QD-Mini LED television range in an independent retail environment where floor space is at a premium and the display needs to work hard as a standalone brand statement rather than as part of a dedicated branded bay. There was an additional requirement for a visually consistent presence at CIH 2025 without the cost and lead time of a completely independent exhibition build.

Approach

Novus developed a modular platform built around three core components: a full-height illuminated fascia panel carrying TCL's QD-Mini LED brand graphics, a hero presentation plinth for a large-format flagship screen, and a series of coordinated display plinths at varying heights for the supporting range. All cable management is integrated within the plinth structure, keeping the display clean and serviceable. The modular system was engineered so that the same header, fascia and plinth dimensions used at Cleverleys could be reconfigured into a compact exhibition footprint for CIH 2025, maintaining consistent visual brand language across both deployments.

Outcome

The retail display at Cleverleys Blackpool is operational as a permanent branded zone for the TCL QD-Mini LED range. The modular platform was successfully adapted for CIH 2025 with no new tooling or structural redesign required, demonstrating the commercial value of designing for cross-context deployment from the outset. The shared modular platform means future range updates — new screen sizes, revised brand graphics — can be accommodated by replacing individual components rather than building from scratch.
