Practical answers about working with Novus, from first brief and project scoping through to installation, handover and aftercare.
About Novus
Novus designs, coordinates production and manages installation of retail environments, display units, exhibition stands, brand activations and commercial interiors. Every project is managed from brief to completion through one accountable project lead, working with a network of trusted specialist manufacturing and installation partners. The result is a single point of contact for the client, consistent quality across every site, and clear accountability from start to aftercare.
Novus delivers five core project types: shop fit-outs (flagships, refits and national rollouts), retail display units (countertop, freestanding, window and in-store displays), exhibition stands (bespoke and modular for trade shows and launches), brand activations (experiential, pop-up and campaign-led environments), and commercial interiors (hotel refurbishments, leisure venues and workspace fit-outs).
Novus has delivered projects for over 50 brands including Bosch, Siemens, NEFF, AEG, TCL, Fisher & Paykel, GROHE, Crosswater, Microsoft, Hisense, ASICS, Samsung, Hollywood Bowl and Cedar Court Hotels. Projects range from single display units to national multi-site rollout programmes.
Novus is based in Yorkshire, UK. Projects are delivered across the UK and Europe, including flagship store fit-outs in London, Paris and Berlin, exhibition stands at venues nationwide, and multi-site retail rollouts across the UK estate of major retailers such as John Lewis.
Novus combines the breadth of a full-service provider with the agility of a small, focused team. One accountable project lead manages the entire process from brief to aftercare, coordinating specialist manufacturing and installation partners through a controlled supplier network. This means fewer hand-offs, tighter quality control, and a single point of accountability for the client. Over 20 years of experience, RSQS certification and a track record with over 50 major brands underpin the service.
Yes. Novus holds RSQS certification through the Retail Suppliers Qualification System, a supplier assurance and compliance system used within the retail sector. It helps demonstrate that Novus has the required business, quality, health and safety, environmental and financial information in place for retail supply-chain procurement.
Novus does not need to manufacture and install everything directly to stay in control of the project. Instead, each project is managed through one accountable Novus project lead, with manufacturing and installation coordinated through trusted specialist partners. This gives clients access to the right expertise at each stage while keeping communication, quality control and accountability with Novus.
Novus works across retail (fashion, electronics, home appliances, bathroom, food and beverage), hospitality (hotel refurbishment and leisure venues), exhibitions and trade shows, brand activations and experiential marketing, and commercial interiors. The common thread is physical environments that need to be designed, built and installed to a high standard, on time and to specification.
The Novus process
The Novus process follows a clear sequence: brief and scoping, concept design and 3D visualisation, client presentation and sign-off, detailed specification, coordinated production through specialist partners, logistics and delivery, installation (overnight, phased or around live operations), and aftercare. One project lead manages the process, so clients have a single point of contact throughout.
Each Novus project is managed by a single project lead who is accountable from brief to aftercare. This means one point of contact for the client, one person coordinating design, production, logistics and installation, and one person responsible for keeping the project on specification, on programme and on budget. It removes the gaps and hand-offs that cause problems when multiple suppliers are managed separately.
Quality control is managed through the Novus-led process at every stage. Design is signed off in 3D before production begins. Manufacturing is coordinated through an established network of specialist partners with clear specifications. Pre-delivery checks are carried out before dispatch. Installation is supervised or managed by Novus through trusted partners. RSQS certification provides an independently audited quality framework across the business.
Yes. Novus provides full concept design and 3D visualisation as part of the project process. Designs are presented in rendered 3D visuals so clients can see exactly what will be built before production begins. Novus can also work to an existing design specification provided by the client or their agency.
Yes. 3D concept visualisation is a standard part of the Novus process. Rendered visuals allow clients to review the design, make changes and sign off before any production begins. This reduces risk and ensures that what is built matches what was agreed.
Yes. Novus can work to a client's own design, an agency specification, or a brand guideline pack. Equally, Novus can develop the concept from scratch if needed. The Novus-led process applies in both cases — managing production and installation through trusted specialist partners to deliver the design as specified.
Yes. Novus regularly coordinates overnight installations in live retail environments, phased installations in operating hotels, and build-ups at exhibition venues with strict show-open deadlines. Installation is managed by Novus through trusted specialist partners, planned to minimise disruption and delivered to programme.
Yes. Multi-site rollout management is a core Novus capability. One specification is maintained across every site, production is coordinated to meet phased delivery schedules, and overnight or phased installation is managed through trusted specialist partners. Clients such as Bosch, NEFF and Siemens have used Novus to roll out retail display programmes across the John Lewis estate.
Yes. Novus provides aftercare and maintenance support following installation. This can include snagging, replacement parts, seasonal updates, reconfiguration for new product ranges, and ongoing maintenance programmes for multi-site installations.
Working with Novus
Contact Novus with a brief or project outline. This can be as detailed as a full specification or as simple as a description of what you need and when. Novus will come back within one working day with an initial view on scope, timings and next steps. From there, the process moves into concept design, costing and programme planning. Email simon@novus-ltd.com or owen@novus-ltd.com, or call 07405 239 062.
To provide an accurate quote, Novus typically needs: a description of what is required (display unit, shop fit-out, exhibition stand, etc.), the number of units or sites, any design references or brand guidelines, the installation location and any access constraints, the target completion date, and the budget range if known. If some of this information is not yet available, Novus can still provide an indicative scope and budget to help with planning.
Timelines vary depending on the scope and complexity of each project. A single retail display unit might take a few weeks from brief to installation, while a flagship shop fit-out or multi-site rollout could take several months. Exhibition stands work to show deadlines, often with compressed timelines. Novus provides a clear programme at the scoping stage and manages to it throughout.
Novus considers each enquiry based on scope, complexity, timing and fit. Projects range from individual display units and single retail features through to multi-site rollouts and large-scale exhibition stands. Share the brief, even if it is early stage, and we'll advise whether Novus is the right fit.
Both. Novus works directly with brand teams, retail operations teams and facilities managers, as well as through design agencies, marketing agencies and brand consultancies. The Novus process is flexible enough to fit either relationship, whether Novus is leading the design or delivering to an agency specification.
Novus projects use a wide range of materials depending on the application, including FSC-certified timber, MDF, laminates, veneers, metals (steel, aluminium, brass), acrylics, glass, solid surface materials, fabric, vinyl graphics and integrated lighting and electrical components. Material selection is guided by the design brief, environment, budget and sustainability considerations.
Novus considers sustainability throughout material selection, production planning and logistics. Where timber is specified, FSC-certified options can be used, supported by relevant supplier documentation. We also work with specialist partners to reduce waste, improve material efficiency and divert suitable offcuts from landfill where possible.
