Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate: Phased Bedroom Refurbishment

Novus managed a three-phase bedroom refurbishment programme at Cedar Court Hotel's Harrogate property, covering more than 48 bedrooms. Each room received bespoke fitted joinery — including floor-to-ceiling wardrobes, headboard surrounds with illustrated botanical panel inserts, bedside units and mirror surround vanities — all manufactured off-site and installed during phased windows to allow the hotel to continue trading at full capacity throughout. No guest-facing disruption was reported across any of the three phases.

Brief

Cedar Court Hotels required a comprehensive bedroom upgrade at their Harrogate property that would refresh the guest room offer without requiring any closure period. All 48+ rooms needed bespoke fitted furniture and decorative elements delivered as a phased programme, with installation sequenced to avoid any disruption to guests or housekeeping operations.

Approach

Novus designed a fitted furniture package covering full-height wardrobes, bedside tables, desk units and mirror surround vanities. Headboards were designed with an integrated illustrated botanical panel — produced in a format that allows the panel to be replaced independently of the surrounding joinery in future refresh programmes. All furniture was manufactured off-site through Novus's manufacturing network in Yorkshire, then delivered to Harrogate as complete components for rapid on-site installation. The three-phase programme was sequenced so that each tranche of rooms was completed and returned to housekeeping before work began on the next, with installation scheduled during low-occupancy periods where possible.

Outcome

More than 48 bedrooms refurbished across three phases, with Cedar Court Harrogate maintaining full operational capacity throughout. No guest-facing disruption was recorded across any phase. Off-site manufacture of all joinery components reduced on-site working time significantly, limiting noise and disruption during installation days. The bespoke joinery and botanical headboard programme supports Cedar Court Harrogate's continued investment in its guest room product.
